The Horrors Persist is a bold hand drawn display font with rough edges, chunky shapes and an intentionally loose, slightly frantic feel. The slanted letterforms and imperfect construction give it the energy of painted signs, underground posters, DIY graphics and lettering that was definitely not drawn with a ruler.
Its rough, slightly sinister personality also makes it a strong choice for Halloween design, creepy October graphics, autumn campaigns and alternative seasonal artwork. Think Halloween gig posters, spooky packaging, horror-inspired branding, October event graphics and designs that need something more interesting than a predictable gothic typeface.
This is an all caps font, designed for graphic designers, illustrators, artists, poster makers, musicians, clothing brands, branding designers, small businesses and Etsy sellers looking for typography that feels raw, expressive and a little unruly.
It works especially well with contemporary grunge, punk, alternative, horror-inspired and handmade design styles where clean geometric typography feels far too sensible.

Please note that The Horrors Persist is intentionally handmade and imperfect. Letterforms, spacing, proportions, alignment and overall form may vary throughout the character set. Rough edges, uneven spacing and irregular shapes are deliberate features rather than errors, and some manual kerning or letter placement may be useful depending on your layout.
Compatible with Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Procreate and other software that supports installed fonts. Canva Pro is required to upload custom fonts.
Webfont use is not included. Please get in touch if you need a webfont licence.

Fonts by Emma Rodriguez Studio are made to have personality. Expect naive shapes, wonky details, playful imperfections and type that doesn’t take itself too seriously. They’re not designed for clean, minimal branding. They’re for bold, quirky, maximalist projects that need something a little stranger, sillier and more expressive.
